Asking the Audience

Here's hoping that the 50% of you who predicted I'd go into labor by today (at 39 weeks along) are as reliable as the audience on Who Wants to be a Millionaire?

No, I'm not particularly uncomfortable, and I'm doing a good job of enjoying these last days of non-motherhood...but I have no objections if this baby wants to make his way out in the next few hours!

Here are some of the things I've been distracting myself with--many ideas courtesy of my lovely friends and family members:

  1. Walking. Everywhere. (Thanks, Cindy.) To the post office, the grocery store, our new favorite dinner spot, no holds barred. The only caveat is that I have to make sure there's a restroom every .6 miles or I have to rush home, trying to cross my legs as I walk (which is a difficult-to-impossible feat).
  2. Hanging out with all my local girls, including Lauren and Kerry in their rare off-hours and AlRo before she gets tied up with her new job.
  3. Reading before bedtime; going to movies; trying to fit in other fun stuff that will be more difficult in the coming months! (Thanks to Maria and Julie for the wealth of suggestions.)
  4. Cleaning and organizing our office, guest rooms and closets.
  5. Baking for my doctor's office, for my hairstylist, and for anyone else willing to accept treats from me. Yes, otherwise known as "nesting."
  6. Having no attention span for TV anymore, although I did watch the "Dancing with the Stars" season premiere last night, and I think it's actually mindless enough to suck me in!
  7. And of course I will be eating pizza for dinner on Friday evening after my dad returns from his business trip. (Thanks again, Cindy!)

Any other suggestions for the last week or so?

Also, don't forget to leave a comment predicting the baby's size!!

I'm glad I can be a source of distraction during my period of unemployment! I'm guessing that the baby will be 8.5 lbs, light brown hair, brown eyes, and will come between the 24th and 30th, so you won't need many more projects to distract yourself. If you do, however, I've been enjoying the new 90210, but really only the parts when they reference the good old days at West Beverly! Also, the new Richard Gere/Diana Lane movie looks good in a cheesy sort of way :)

Jo, I'm hope that our long phone conversations (in between your long walks with Alro) help keep you occupied. I'm guessing tomorrow (9/26)
Love you,
Le
P.S. If you are still waiting after tomorrow, rent the first season of Gossip Girl. I know what you are thinking, but it really is good. XOXO

Well J...everyone in Kenya is waiting with baited breath for the little Nooner's arrival. Or maybe it is just me and Kristoffer...but regardless. I am really glad you are keeping yourself calm and appropriately busy as you wait for your water to break or your contractions to start.

Good luck with that :) Love and miss you! Lis

I'm guessing 9/30, unless you eat a lot of eggplant (supposed to move things along). I also think Mr. Nameless will be 8 lbs 4 oz. and he will be adorable, this I know!
xoxoxo
